Inner Beauty - Woodford Park (Woodley)

Hello Lovlies!

Today I'd like to tell you all about the Inner Beauty salon! Inner Beauty is run by the lovely Hannah Camfield and is based in the Woodford Park sports centre, in Woodley. I'd been trying to find someone locally that didn't charge the earth for treatments (and there are quite a few of those out there) and had good reviews, so I asked on one of the local facebook groups for Woodley, I was recommended Hannah/Inner Beauty. I chatted to Hannah via message about what I needed and opted for a full body massage on Hannah's suggestion after I couldn't decide between the full body and aromatherapy!

Upon arrival I was greeted by the lovely Hannah and shown to the therapy room - It's warm and cosy and has some very lovely background music playing (I could fall asleep here!) Hannah and I talked about what I was looking for from the massage and if I had any problem areas, she also asked me to fill out a client form (the usual name, address, medications etc.) Once this was done Hannah left the room so I could change and hop on the bed for my massage.

I have to say, this was the best massage I've ever had and I might be a little hooked now! (I've been back for two more since then and have another booked!) The massage left me feeling really relaxed and all the achy muscles I had were gone! I really love chatting to Hannah too!  Other places I have been always seem to have that awkward silence I hate so much! and it's lovely to be able to chat away with someone!

Before (Lousy photo, sorry!)
After! Pretty!
After my first visit I decided to book another massage and to get my eyebrows waxed (I've never had this done and was really curious about how I'd look. (A previous salon I went to to get a manicure done kept going on about how she really wanted to do my eyebrows and how I'd look so much better!) I'm super happy I did as it's just made them so much tidier and easier to apply make up as the wax removes any dead cells as well!

I'd highly, highly recommend Inner Beauty, the prices are great, Hannah is wonderful and it's a great place to go for some 'me time'! If you'd like to know more you can check out Inner Beauty's website below:

Glasgow!

Hello Lovelies!

If you've ever wondered if I'm capable of looking some what human at 3:00am then the picture above is it! A while ago we had a business trip to Glasgow with a very early start!

We flew from Heathrow and it's changed quite a bit since I last went anywhere - there are little pods now that you can take from the car park to the airport! The design reminds me a lot of Honda's Asimo and are definitely very space aged!

Inside are the pods are little screens that tell you different information and show how far you are away from the air port. You can just about fit five people and luggage in one of these!

Early morning airport! I was surprised it was this busy this early in the morning.

In Glasgow we spotted two different Tardis's! I'm not sure why one was red but they were pretty cool anyhow! Our office is right off the high street and there were quite a few different shops to look at, though as it was such a short trip we didn't get much time to look.

I've forgotten the name of the restaurant but we went for a curry after work.

The Citizen M hotel! I've never been to one of these hotels before and they are a little bizzare! (Not in a bad way though!) They are definitely great for sole travellers though, I'm not sure how they'd be for couples thought (I'll get onto why I think that in a moment.) Check in/out is all automated on touch screen computers.

In the hotel was a Samsung tablet, everything  is controlled from here, the TV, the A/C the lighting, even the blinds! It was super easy to use though.

The sink is right in front of you as you walk in the door, this struck me as super odd and possibly rather un-hygenic as the bathroom is in that little pod on the right hand side of the second picture! That's right, the bathroom/shower is in a semi-translucent pod!!! This is why I said the rooms are suited to single travellers rather than couples. I'm not sure what they were thinking with this but why on earth would you want to watch your room mate in the bathroom! The other think that struck me was the gigantic bed, it's literally the width of the room! I have to say I did find the room a little claustrophobic, everything was wedged in and I don't think I'd want to share it with anyone.

View from the window in the morning. I didn't bother with the hotel breakfast, I'd read reviews saying that it wasn't very good, and some others that I went with commented that it wasn't very nice.

We managed to find some interesting food! Including a deep fried Mars bar, a deep fried pizza and some really lovely macaroni cheese (one of my favourites) The deep fried pizza was a bit odd as it tasted really sweet to me!

Have you ever been to Glasgow? Where are your favourite places to go or see? Let me know in the comments below!

Reading Toy Run 2014

Hello Lovelies,

Today's post is all about 2014's Toy Run!

This took part yesterday and there were nearly 2000 bikes taking part, plus pillion passengers too! The idea is to take a toy to donate to children who may not otherwise received a present at Christmas. It was honestly very impressive and I didn't expect so many spectators either!

Christmas is on the way and you can definitely feel the spirit of it!

Christmas is coming! Happy Holidays!!

Hello Lovelies!

It's the holiday season and Christmas is officially on its way! Most of you know that this is one of my favourite times of the year. Everyone seems a bit more cheerful even though the weather hasn't been great and its now dark before 4:00pm here in England. It's also FREEZING! But this mean it's time to break out the knitted jumpers, tights and dresses! Not to mention boots! The downside is that it means I now need a bunch of thermal layers on before even getting on the bike! Wind chill makes a surprising difference this time of the year.

Some of my favourite things so far are these cute little cup designs from Costa (I might be a bit addicted to the Gingerbread latte).

I also made this little Santa from a magazine sewing kit (I have more to do, yay!)

I found this for Harry in one of the pound stores in town for Harry - how cute is this? It's also bone shaped which I thought was pretty funny. Now I just need to buy some treats to put in it!

I've shockingly finished all my Christmas shopping! I hate doing it last minute so try to do it as early as possible! Have you started you finished yours too or are you more of last minute person? Why not let me know below in the comments! <3 p="">

Hello Lovelies,

So two weeks may have turned into something more like four weeks! This was never my intention but there there were a few reasons for this. Firstly life off-line has left me with very little time to update the site. Secondly because of the lack of time most of the posts recently have been reviews rather than tutorials or anything else, which whilst this was something I wanted to do, it wasn't the only thing.

So to try and get things back on track I'm reducing the amount of times the site will update per week from every Monday-Wednesday-Thursday to Mondays and possibly (?) Fridays as well. This should make things a bit easier and hopefully mean that I can get better updates for you as well.

So anyway, thank you for following and for waiting patiently! The next post will go up shortly after this one, and will then carry on updating on Monday and hopefully Fridays.

The sites changed a lot over the last year - from the colour and layout, the logo, the address and even the logo. I'm sure they'll be more changes to come, hopefully for the better!

Thank you to everyone who has subscribed and kept up with me over the last year! I hope you've enjoyed the content so far and I'll keep trying my best to bring you new and fun things!

AliExpress - Shopping!

Hello my Lovelies!

Today's post is all about AliExpress! AliExpress is a shopping site where you can purchase items directly from China - I discovered them at the beginning of the year when I was trying to find a way to purchase items from China with out using a shopping service, which is where AliExpress came in.

So far I've made serveral purchases including clothing, pens, stationary and even a phone! Every purchase has been really straight foreward and the one purchase I did have a problem with was solved by Customer care very quickly! (Much quicker than disputing with Paypal!

So I thought as a special event was coming up on AliExpress - 11.11, where there are lots of discounts to be had, now would be an ideal time for a review so you can see what kind of thing you can purchase!

I spotted this Kitty top a little while ago, and seeing as it was so cheap I decided to go ahead and order it! Ordering is very simple, you select the item you want, the size if applicable, add it to your basket and pay using a credit card - you can even add items from different sellers and check out all in one go. You'll then receive an email when your payment has been accepted and when the order has been dispatched.

My top was sent very quickly and arrived, I think around 2 weeks later from dispatch, that's really not bad going all the way from China! Nearly every item I've purchased has arrived securely packed like the below. It's great because it means Royal Mail can't damage the product inside!

Here's my top, folded very neatly inside the package, wrapped in cellophane for extra security!

And here it is, my lovely kitty top! Exactly as it looks in the pictures! It fits perfectly and the measurements were very accurate. I'm quite tempted to order a few more from the same seller in different patterns!

So if you'd like to find out more about AliExpress or the 11-11 promotion, please check out their site. They have recently made a UK facebook page as well, so be sure to check out that too!

MAC cosmetics

Hello Lovelies,

Whilst on a recent business trip I ended up stuck at an airport for a few hours due to delays with our flight. I took the time to wander around the duty free and found they had a MAC cosmetics counter! I used to buy MAC make up quite a long time a go (I'm not actually sure why I stopped buying it!) and still have some of the eye shadows as they are fantastic. My go to beige colour had just about run out so I decided to pick up a new one as it was cheaper here than in my local store!

So this is the eye shadow I picked up - I wanted this for blending into other colours and as a base, it's a really lovely soft beige, it applies very well with a brush and gives the amount of coverage I wanted. Better yet it blends excellently with both dark and light colours and is now my go to base eye shadow!

Now this I hadn't planned on buying, this is one of MACs matte lipsticks in Diva - but whilst I was looking at the eye shadows the assistant asked if I needed any help. I'd been looking for a long lasting dark red for awhile, but I tend to find the shiny lipsticks in red bleed everywhere and rub off very quickly! The assistant suggest three shades and this was the one I picked and I'm so glad I did, It's amazing! The colour is perfect, it doesn't bleed (therefore doesn't require lip liner) and it stays put! Seriously, I could probably get away with out re-applying this for most of the day!

Everything together! I've blended the eye shadow with another for the smoky look! I'm pretty happy with my purchases though I do believe this has re-kindled my love for MAC cosmetics!

Kawaii Monthly - October ~*~ Positive ~*~

Hello Lovelies,

As mentioned before this is the other of the two kawaii boxes I ordered. This one is from Kawaii monthly and costs £12.60 including shipping. Again this is cheaper than the Keep it Secret box.

Kawaii Monthly say 'Each package you receive will have 5 different cute and kawaii items! We will include charms, make-up, snacks, stationary and other cute stuff that you can only get in Japan! We also include a printed newsletter with information on each item included.'

So Here's my box! Yet again royal mail have battered this! But it is a sturdy box so everything is safe inside!

On top of everything is a little leaflet that explains this months items, I always find these useful especially if the items are unusual and all in Japanese! It's also nice to know a little background information on the items too.

The first of the items! A Hello Kitty shopper bag! This is made of a heavyweight plastic and has a little velcro closure on it. It's a perfect size for books or lunches!

I think this is the favourite of my items, a black handheld mirror - this also folds at the handle. I'd seen these a little while ago and loved them but didn't get the chance to buy one. I really like the design detail on the back and around the bezel of the mirror.

Hamster pencils! These are super fun, I used to have pencils like these when I was little, They have individual leads that you swap out when it gets blunt/finished. The pack came with four pencils and a colour one too. They'll be super handy for me and I've already taken some of them to work.

Hello kitty sweets! These were peach and apple flavoured bow shaped gummies which were pretty tasty!

Foot product - This was the last of the items a Japanese Beauty product - the idea is you stick these sheets to the soles of your feet overnight and they absorb all the impurities in your skin! I've not had chance to give these a try yet but they look really interesting!

Well, I have to say I was pretty impressed with this box as well. I like the fact you get a variety of items, and I always like trying new beauty products. I think I will be keeping this subscription for a while yet to see what kind of things are sent in the coming months!
